On Tuesday, October 4 from 10 am to 12 pm, there will be a 2 hour outage in Pontiac so that DTE can safely work on electrical system repairs.

Special Council Meeting w/DTE Sept 28
Ferndale City Council will be holding a special City Council meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:00pm to discuss the power outage that occurred from July 20 to July 23, 2011. “This will be an opportunity for DTE to discuss what occurred over the summer and address the concerns our residents have,” said Mayor Dave Coulter. “Residents have been frustrated with the recent power outages and want answers.”
Power Outages Continue as Ferndale Cleans Up from Storm
Throughout SE Michigan, 45,000 customers remain without power, including thousands of homes in Ferndale and Hazel Park, after storms hit Saturday night. The DTE Website says the company expects to have service restored to 90% of customers by the end of the day.
Power Outage Update
Half of the City remains without power as DTE works to repair the overworked, aging electrical system. Attempts to do shift electricity from some neighborhoods to others in two-hour stints have been causing transformers to blow. The DTE Website now says: “Based on crew availability, the number of customers out and current weather conditions, we anticipate that your power should be restored between Fri Jul 22 2011 09:30 PM , and Fri Jul 22 2011 11:30 PM. “
