On Monday June 13th, at about 5:30 in the evening, Ferndale Police took a report from two young boys who said they were assaulted with a handgun. The victims were 7 and 13 years old. On 02/28/11 at about 4:20 p.m. Ferndale Police responded to a report of a man intentionally struck by a car in the area of Martin and Chestnut. The 21 year old victim said he was walking northbound on Martin near Chestnut when he observed an older (early 1990’s) model, green, Mercury Cougar driving s.b. on Martin. The victim was stepping from the street onto the curb when the Cougar headed toward him.
Earlier this week, Fire Marshal Brian Batten presented Ferndale resident Terry Bowlus an award of $2,000 from the Michigan Arson Prevention Committee for his testimony that led to the conviction of an arsonist.
On Friday 02/11/11 at approximately 4:15 p.m. a Ferndale officer made a traffic stop on a Ford Explorer for defective equipment. The Explorer was driven by BRANDON LAMAR WILLIAMS (b/m, 19, Detroit resident) who had two passengers with him (a 19 and a 22 year old man). As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed from the area of 9 Mile and Romeo.

Khamarko’s family gathered on the two-month anniversary of the shooting to give a 200+ balloon salute to the slain man, who often brought balloons from his store for the little ones in the family on visits.
