Police looking for green car used in attack

On 02/28/11 at about 4:20 p.m. Ferndale Police responded to a report of a man intentionally struck by a car in the area of Martin and Chestnut. The 21 year old victim said he was walking northbound on Martin near Chestnut when he observed an older (early 1990’s) model, green, Mercury Cougar driving s.b. on Martin. The victim was stepping from the street onto the curb when the Cougar headed toward him.

Shooter Still at Large, Balloons Released in Memory…

Khamarko’s family gathered on the two-month anniversary of the shooting to give a 200+ balloon salute to the slain man, who often brought balloons from his store for the little ones in the family on visits. Friends and loyal customers from the surrounding neighborhood came out, along with a slew of reporters to spread awareness about the shooting, and to ask the public if there is any information out there.

Dumpster Fire Dies Down

As the sun sets on the W. Troy Street Parking Lot in Downtown Ferndale, firemen use a portable circular saw to try and reach the smoldering debris in what’s left of a dumpster fire on the side of the Better Business Systems building. At approximately 5pm, an employee of Rosie O’Grady’s reported the fire in the shared dumpster, which is located in the City-owned lot just one block South of Nine Mile.
