Each December, The Ferndale Beautification Commission takes nominations and selects the winners of the Holiday Light Awards. One winner from each quadrant of the city is selected, plus one business. Earlier this week Beautification Commission Chairperson Peggy Snow delivered letters to the homeowners and invited them to the first City Council meeting in January, where they will be presented with their certificates.
The following awards were presented at the Ferndale City Council meeting of Jan. 9, 2012 by Peggy Snow on behalf of the Ferndale Beautification Commission. Each year the Commission takes nominations and typically gives four residential business awards (one from each quadrant of the city), and one commercial.
As the snow begins to fall, Ferndalians are getting ready for the holiday season by decorating their homes with lights, garland, wreaths and other traditional décor. The tradition is encouraged by Ferndale’s Beautification Commission, who gives out holiday light awards each year.
