Then join the Ferndale Environmental Sustainability Commission for the Green Tuesday Seminar Series on Tuesday, October 11th, from 6:30-8:00pm at the Ferndale Library (222 E 9 Mile Rd in Ferndale) to learn more about how to weatherize your home for the winter and save money and electricity in the process.
The City of Fendale has declared the Kulick Community Center at 1201 Livernois as a “Cooling Center.”
When a “Heat Advisory” or “Action Ozone Day” has been declared, Ferndale residents may come to the Community Center to cool off.
The Cooling Center hours will be Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Participants will have access to specific rooms at the Center. Tables and chairs, board games and TV will be available for use. Lunch is served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for $3 for individuals 55 years and older. All others are $6.
A section of Ferndale has been selected to be the first in the State to receive Federal Funding for the Better Buildings for Michigan Program. The program gives homeowners access to incentives, affordable loans and improvements at a reduced cost to help bring down energy consumption community-wide.
