She walked north on Livernois for several blocks, then was attacked by the same man she had seen earlier. He grabbed her from behind and began to drag her. The victim had keys in her hand and used them to defend herself by hitting the attacker with the keys.

Officers made contact with the driver and returned to their patrol cars to run computer checks. One of the officers notices suspicious movement by Williams and watched him from outside of the car. Williams had a handgun (Smith & Wesson revolver) and tried to hide it under the car seat. The officer arrested Williams.

On 11/05/12 at about 11:50 p.m. a Ferndale officer made a traffic stop on a motorcycle and found the woman rider was on a stolen bike.
“The homeowner acted within his rights and will not be charged. A person has the right to defend themselves with deadly force from a burglar entering their home,” Lt. William Wilson said.

So far the suspect(s) remain at large. Police are asking residents in Ferndale and surrounding cities to keep their eyes open for a silver Ford Ranger pick-up with an Oxbow logo on the side of it. There may be bullet holes in it.
One officer was walking across Breckenridge when a Dodge Durango turned from n.b. Woodward onto e.b. Breckenridge. The Durango headed for the officer who signaled and yelled for the vehicle to stop. The Durango continued and struck the officer.
On June 25, 2012, a minivan occupied by Ferndale Police Officer John Cleveland, his wife Jodie, and their three children, Katie, Gavin and Olivia, was struck by a drunk driver. Tragically, Olivia did not survive the accident. She was only 3 years old.
The owner of the computer received a phone call from a man who offered to sell the victim back his computer. This man made arrangements to meet the victim in a parking lot. The victim notified the police and an officer posed as the victim to meet the suspect
This story was quick on the minds of the women who met with a member of the Ferndale Police Department as part of Transgender Day of Empowerment on April 14.
“Due to the actions of all the officers involved, the teamwork of the surrounding agencies, and the immediate, professional response by officers, a habitual offender and parolee Cornelius Maddox was taken into custody and removed from the streets.”
The driver fled the wrong way / one way on Livernois, sped through residential streets, drove through a residential yard, and drove into the park. After a three minute high speed chase, the two female occupants bailed out of the car
The store was very busy while the incident occurred and the man was able to walk out of the store without being noticed and never returned.
The owner arrived at the store later and was suspicious of the inspection and attempted to contact the Ferndale Fire Department; however, both the fire marshal and Chief were not available.
On 2/13/12 at 0052 hours a Ferndale Officer was patrolling west on W Eight Mile passing Laprairie when he saw a black Jeep Liberty approaching Eight Mile. The report for the weekend is that Ferndale was generally quiet, but for more drunk driving arrests than usual. From the early morning hours of Saturday morning until 12:55 this morning, Ferndale Police arrested 8 people for drunk driving. Two of the arrests were for Felony Drunk driving. Both felony arrestees had extremely high blood alcohol levels and extensive driving records.
One of the two has been released pending further investigation. Another remains in custody and is suspected of being the gunman in the incident.

Investigation revealed that two of the three crimes did not happen as they were reported. One person was arrested for the two robberies. It turned out that the victims were not robbed, but were scammed out of money while attempting to purchase marijuana from the suspect.
Today, 12/06/11, at about 11:00 a.m. the Charter One Bank at 23011 Woodward in Ferndale was robbed.
