Visitors to four Oakland County Parks can view artwork along the trails thanks to the popular Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) Inside|Out art installation program.
The Detroit Institute of Arts Inside|Out pieces are being installed in the 26 cities chosen for the 2022 program in cities throughout the Metro Detroit area.
Designs range from the abstract to the painterly and come in a variety of color palettes to compliment your wardrobe.

The Arts Millage Passed in all three counties. In Oakland County it passed by 63.68%.
The SMART Bus millage got renewed with 79.24% voting in its favor.
Hazel Parks Schools voters passed two millages, each with about 57% of the vote.

The building is the Oakland County Headquarters for the Art is for Everyone Campaign, whose goal is to encourage support of the Aug. 7th ballot proposal to provide taxpayer support for the Detroit Institute of Arts. The millage will cost the owner of a $150,000 home about $15 a year, and the money will be used to operate the museum and its programming.
The millage vote takes place on August 7, 2012.
The millage would provide $23 million per year: $10 million in Oakland, $8 million in Wayne and $5 million in Macomb.
In 2009 the DIA reduced its workforce by nearly 20% (more than 60 full and part time positions), and reduced its total operating budget by $9 million

The millage is similar to one approved by voters in 2008, giving the three Counties authority and support to the Detroit Zoo. Other regional arts and education attractions have folded in recent years without stable public support, including the Detroit Science Center and the Bell Isle Aquarium.
