Approximately 175 candidates, born after Dec. 31, 1982, applied for the recognition.
“We are looking for young adults who through their work, ideas, and service embody what it means to be ‘Oakland Together,’” Coulter said.
We look forward to partnering with food providers across the county, to provide help and support where it’s needed most.”
But such events are becoming more popular as communities of all sizes see the value in being welcoming of LGBTQ+ neighbors. “You are changing the narrative that the only way to come out in a small town is to get out.”
These individuals exemplify Oakland Together, Coulter’s vision for a community working together to leverage its strengths, address its challenges, and find value in working with regional partners.
