Through the Art in Public Spaces program, the Public Arts Board aims to identify, fund and secure artwork for display within the City.
“It’s been 10 years of building community, 10 years of helping creative entrepreneurs get a start, 10 years of being a shopping destination unlike any other in Michigan,” Chris said.

Of all the artists in the State who submitted their work, it was Ferndale artist Charles Pompilius who was selected by former Governor Jennifer Granholm to paint her portrait to hang in the State Capitol. The painting will be unveiled on May 6 in a special ceremony in Lansing.
