Brown’s project is called “Poetry in Public Places.”
The color red is highly visible and symbolizes love, energy, and passion.
The gallery hosts the work of local artists, provides community classes and cultivates culture in the surrounding areas.
Students in the program come from Berkley, Clawson, Ferndale, Lamphere, Madison, Oak Park and Pontiac Districts.
In preparation for its 21st season, the Birmingham Farmers Market invites children of all artistic abilities, in kindergarten through eighth grade, to participate in the 2023 tote bag design contest.
With hopes of fostering a creative community partnership based in art and literature and promoting the library’s Makerspace, artists of all ages are invited to submit original works inspired by Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s novel Mexican Gothic.
Over 200 artists lined areas along Nine Mile in Downtown Ferndale for a pair of artistic events – The Funky Ferndale Art Fair on the west, and DIY on the east.

The group meets Mondays at the Karl Richter Community Center in Holly, from 11am to 1pm.
The mural is 4.5 feet high and 20 feet wide and was unveiled July 12 at Thelma G. Spencer Park, 3701 John R. Road.

The Ferndale Library’s Art & Exhibitions Committee will host a Reception for local visual artist Loralee Grace on June 30 from 6 pm – 8 pm, celebrating her current show, “Futurelands,” currently on display in the library’s program room.
While Art on the Grand featured seasoned professional artists from near and far, it also helped support local student artists.
