Max Fischer is now all grown up, and running his own film company called Fish Soup Films. He came to Michigan last Wednesday as the keynote speaker for a luncheon at Michigan AIDS Coalition to help attract attention and funding to the cause. He shared news of a documentary that he has been working on for the past year, his way of carrying his mother’s work forward.
Heck’s red rose was back in the Detroit area on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 as part of Affirmations AIDS Memorial. Four 12 x 12 sections were on display in the community center in Downtown Ferndale, containing panels that originated in the Metro Detroit Area.
The talk will be a donation-based lunch, with the first 60 to RSVP enjoying food from the Matt Prentice Restaurant group. The lunch will be held at the MAC headquarters at 429 Livernois in Ferndale on Dec. 15 at noon. There is no charge, but donations are suggested.
