During his 29 year career, Curtis received 16 commendations for outstanding service. He started with the Department in 1991 as a Police Service Aide and was promoted in 1998 to Communications Supervisor.
Voters in the Avondale School District will see six candidates on the Nov. 3, 2020 ballot competing for three positions on the school board.

Oakland County’s workforce was severely impacted when unemployment in the county spiked at 19.5 percent in April and 19.3 percent in May. Ehrlich predicted the county’s unemployment rate for 2020 would improve dramatically to 9.1 percent for the year, with the rate nationally at 9.2 percent.
In the race for County Commissioner of the 11th District, Incumbent Thomas E. Kuhn, a Republican, is on the ballot as is Democrat Tim Burns.
In the race for 6th Circuit Court Judge, there are six incumbents running to retain their seats, plus one write-in candidate.

School districts will be able to apply for items that have not been reimbursed by the state or federal government. Funding for the initiative has been made available from the federal CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds received by Oakland County.
Oakland County had a slightly higher rejection rate of 1.7 percent of their total 261,890 absentee ballots.
