For a four-year full term council seat, there are three seats available, with six candidates on the ballot and one write-in.

There are two regular School Board positions available with a six year term. The candidates are Nen Bailey, Christopher Davis, Al Elvin, Maxine Gutfreund, and Ben Vineburg.
For voters in the Royal Oak School District, there are six candidates running for four positions on the school board.
Candidates are Melissa Baldwin, Heidi Fortress, incumbent Rose Mary Hammonds, incumbent Charles Hemple, Ian Lloyd, Dawn Rice, Kristy Schlak, and Lance Starter.
The candidates are Michael Brady, Kelly Brault, Rita Davis, Robbin Hopinks, incumbent Wayne Kakuda, and Lucille Washington.
Over two-thirds (77.0 percent) of the requested ballots were returned, and these returned ballots represented 70.8 percent of the total votes cast.
“The data proves we have changing demographics. Stagnant housing does not respond to the needs of the community and I think this gets us moving in the right direction,” Ferndale Mayor Melanie Piana said.
The COVID-19 crisis continues as Michigan reaches 100,000 cases of the disease.
“I’m proud that we could finally make this investment. It improves transparency, as well as be a valuable training tool for our officers who will now be able to replay interactions.”
Courts across the state, including the 45th and 43rd in SE Oakland County are helping to spread the word about the program by providing fliers to those interact with the courts.
Up to $20,000 is available for projects such as:
Tree inventories and management plans.
Urban forest master plans or strategic plans.
Tree maintenance connected to strategic activities in a plan or tree inventory.
Community outreach or local staff training.
Tree ordinance review and development.
