“I love this school so much. My dream is to come back to Ferndale to be a history teacher,” said Ferndale High School senior Bridget Salogar as she and nineteen fellow students answered questions at the annual Ferndale Schools Community Breakfast.
The point of the conversation is to record concerns such as these and present them to the House and Senate, but Johnson did suggest that participants could learn more about their government and the ways that the Michigan Department of Education sets policies for all public schools to follow. Knowing how government works is a step in the direction of accountability for all areas.

The signs will incorporate the Downtown Ferndale logo which is a D and an F in circles, or the shortened dtwn Ferndale with an arrow after the D. They will also tie in the funky Downtown Ferndale colors of green, blue and purple. “This will make Downtown Ferndale more recognizable to everyone across generations,” says DDA Director Cristina Sheppard-Decius. She said that the program will also include an online tour of Ferndale that people can view online, or print out and do in person.
Along the streets of Downtown Ferndale, ice sculptures glistened in the reasonably warm winter sun while volunteers traded cookies for donations at the seventh annual Ferndale Ice Festival. The festival brought many merry memories to families throughout the community.

Ferndale put its best face forward the first weekend in September 2009, with the first ever Ferndale Film Festival.
