They will also tie in the funky Downtown Ferndale colors of green, blue and purple. “This will make Downtown Ferndale more recognizable to everyone across generations,” says DDA Director Cristina Sheppard-Decius. She said that the program will also include an online tour of Ferndale that people can view online, or print out and do in person.
Along the streets of Downtown Ferndale, ice sculptures glistened in the reasonably warm winter sun while volunteers traded cookies for donations at the seventh annual Ferndale Ice Festival. The festival brought many merry memories to families throughout the community.

Ferndale put its best face forward the first weekend in September 2009, with the first ever Ferndale Film Festival. The event, which grew out of the Detroit Film Club and their meetings at Dino’s Lounge 22740 Woodward, featured over 30 films at a dozen locations through the city, along with workshops and discussion groups.
