A Taste of the Community Foundation

Palmer is one of a dozen citizens who serve on the Board of the Community Foundation as they prepare for their grand annual fundraising spectacular The Taste of Ferndale. The taste-fest takes place on March 8, 2011 from 6-9pm at Via Nove Restaurant. Tickets are $30 and include samples from many local businesses, live music from The Metro Jazz Voices, and a large silent auction. The event is presented this year by Garden Fresh Gourmet

More Ferndale Restaurants Go Green, To Go!

Ferndale has proven to be a strong consumer of environmentally-conscious products, according to local food service products business Michigan Green Safe Products. Matt Naimi, General Manager of Michigan Green Safe, says that Ferndale is one of the best places to do business in, with Royal Oak, Ann Arbor and Midtown in Detroit also providing them with a good base of customers.

Former Mayors See Coulter into Center Seat

Dave Coulter was sworn in as the 17th Mayor of the City of Ferndale at the City Council meeting of Feb. 14, 2011. He was surrounded by supporters from throughout the community, including previous Mayors Pamela McCullough (1994-1996), Charles (Chuck) Goedert (1996-2002), Robert (Bob) Porter (2002-2008), Craig Covey (2008-2010), and Kate Baker who served as Mayor Pro Tem during the weeks following Covey’s resignation.
