Pedestrian Death at College and Woodward

Upon arrival, officers located a 70 year old female resident of the city of Ferndale laying in the left lane of north bound Woodward Avenue. She was unresponsive and officers began first aide on the injured victim. Ferndale Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak where she was pronounced dead.

When she walked out of her door to the area near a community laundry, Thomas came out of the laundry room and threw gasoline on her. He then extended out his arm toward her. Volunteers came together for two mass yard sales on June 8. The Trunk and Treasure Sale was held in the parking lot of City Hall, where vendors rented tables with the fees going to support Ferndale Recreation. Across the street at FernCare free clinic there was a yard sale of donated items, with proceeds helping provide health care for the needy.
