Rev. Lynch comes out of retirement to shepherd MCCD

The Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit is ready to move forward with the appointment of Interim Pastor Rev. Jim Lynch. The 63 year-old Lynch has served as interim pastor for other congregations and has worked in Michigan, Florida and Illinois to make sure that MCC churches have strong transitional leadership.

Council Gets Sworn In, Appointments Get Made

Mayor Dave Coulter, who had been appointed by City Council for a partial first term when former Mayor Craig Covey was elected to County Commissioner, had his second swearing in by The Honorable Judge Joseph Longo.

Charity of Choice: Ferndale Soup

This month’s Charity is Ferndale Soup. The premise of Ferndale Soup is simple. On the third Sunday of each month, a bunch of people get together and each pay $5 to enjoy some soup (and other delicious food) and listen to presentations about projects that people would like to start. Then they vote on which project gets to take home the funding.
