The Burger Joint in Downtown Milford has a few wonderful things going for it.
Woodpile is located at 630 E 11 Mile in Madison Heights and 303 S. Main Street in Downtown Clawson.
El Mariachi has a menu full of Mexican options including tacos, burritos, and fajitas.
Vinsetta Garage is an old mechanic’s shop that was renovated to include details of this sentimental space.
But for this visit I was in the mood for something even more amazing – the Virginia Baked Ham Dinner.
Mui’s is full of options, including lunch and dinner specials that are numbered for easy ordering.
I decided to try the Harvest Chicken Melt and the Caramelized Walnut, Goat Cheese and Arugula Salad.

The restaurant was open for carryout only when I went, but I was able to glimpse the old school booths, the working juke box, and the interesting 1950s pattern of the countertops. They’ve since reopened for dine in service.
There are a lot of interesting choices on the menu at The Jagged Fork, a local chain with locations in in Lathrup Village, Rochester Hills, West Bloomfield, Grosse Pointe Farms, and Ann Arbor.
Rick’s on the Lake does have some darn good pizza. But before I get into that, I’d like to write about the drive to get there.
I also got a Caesar salad that was impressive with beautiful shavings of parmesan and tasty croutons.
Along with expected favorites like housemade hummus, fried kibbee, kabobs, kaftas, and shawarmas, there are also alluring items like sauteed dandelions, feta stuffed portabella mushrooms…
Please consider checking out new places, trying new things, and supporting local restaurants.
For a special evening I splurged on a Connecticut Lobster Roll, Winter Fennel Salad, and Hushpuppies.
The Holly Cafe has taken the time to re-imagine their adorable space to provide easy, healthy options for people on the go.
Charlie’s seven page menu has sections to suit almost anybody.
Next to this I got a shaggy-topped mess of flavors and textures that is also as fun as it’s name – the Karate Roll.
As the name suggests, Zoe’s specialty is pancakes – made with their “signature batter” just brimming with sweetness and golden butter flavoring.
