When she walked out of her door to the area near a community laundry, Thomas came out of the laundry room and threw gasoline on her. He then extended out his arm toward her. Volunteers came together for two mass yard sales on June 8. The Trunk and Treasure Sale was held in the parking lot of City Hall, where vendors rented tables with the fees going to support Ferndale Recreation. In its second year, Clean the Ferndale Up brought over 80 residents out to do various clean up projects around the city. Focusing mainly on parks and major streets, teams picked up trash, raked leaves, and put mulch around trees.
