Ferndale City Council has voted to extend free parking until March 24th, and to revert rates back to 50 cents per hour until further study can be done on what rates would be appropriate.

County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said. “I’m exceedingly proud of the progress Pontiac has made in bringing its downtown to life and Ferndale continues to amaze with the energy and passion it brings to the program. “The court believes it could craft an opinion on this matter, but no matter what I did would not satisfy either side,” he said. “Hopefully the Supreme Court will give us some direction. I think it’s important for this case to move forward, but the court believes I should stay a decision until these decisions.”

The fight reportedly started as the result of students taunting each other. Administrators and staff in the school contained the fight; however it resulted in an injury to one administrator.
