There are non-alcoholic drinks available through the festival as well, and people are encouraged to pace themselves and drink responsibly. It’s a hot weekend, so watch out for dehydration. And never ever drink and drive.
Pig & Whiskey will showcase 10 or more of Southeast Michigan’s best barbecue restaurants while highlighting unique and delicious pork, beef and barbecue dishes. Furthermore, there will be over 40 varieties of bourbon, scotch, and whiskey brands available to sample. There will also be a beer tent for those seeking an alternative to whiskey. Food and beverage will be available for cash purchase.

Ferndale’s famous Pig & Whiskey festival took place last weekend, with people from all over SE Michigan packing into the area behind the WAB and the Emory for three days’ worth of music, food and drink.
With the lure of great local bands, multiple styles of BBQ, and plenty of booze to wash it down, The Pig & Whiskey festival brought over 10,000 people to Downtown Ferndale on Saturday alone. Sizable crowds attended Friday and Sunday as well. The massive event, put on by Metro Times, The Woodward Avenue Brewers and The Emory, took place July 13, 14, and 15, 2012.
