Ferndale Fire Station Hosting Open House Oct. 3
Ferndale, MI – The City of Ferndale is inviting community members to get an up-close look at fire safety during a Fire Station Open House on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 4-6 p.m.
The free event takes place at Ferndale Fire Station 2, located at 1070 E. Nine Mile Road.
Visitors can step inside the fire station, meet Ferndale firefighters and take part in a variety of safety demonstrations and activities.
Activities will include live safety demonstrations, CPR education, a fire blanket demonstration and an opportunity to test fire-fighting skills using a virtual fire extinguisher.
SOCRRA will also be at the event offering battery recycling, giving residents an opportunity to safely dispose of old batteries.
The open house comes just before Fire Prevention Week, which runs Oct. 4-10, 2026. This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” with an emphasis on preventing fires involving rechargeable batteries and the devices they power.
The Ferndale Fire Station Open House is free and open to the public.
