Water Restrictions in Auburn Hills, Oakland Township, Orion Township, and Rochester Hills

Oakland County, MI – A water pump station failure has impacted water service in northern Oakland County. As of now four municipalities are impacted: Auburn Hills, Oakland Township, Orion Township, and Rochester Hills. Each has their own conditions. Below are updates from each.
Auburn Hills
Auburn Hills is no longer under mandatory restriction.
Oakland Township
A precautionary boil water advisory remains in effect for the north pressure district of the SE water district of the Township. This GENERALLY consists of Oakland Farms, Oak Arbor, Deer Pointe subdivisions. Water samples are currently being retested. If these samples pass, the boil water advisory could be lifted on Sunday, July 19.
The boil water advisory for Knorrwood Knolls subdivision has been lifted as of Friday, July 17.
The boil water advisory in the area of Dutton & Adams, including Flourish Collection, Munson Elementary, KingsPointe, and Hills of Oakland has been lifted as of Saturday, July 18.
Orion Township (including Lake Orion Village)
The pump has been repaired and there are no longer usage restrictions in Orion Township.
Rochester Hills
Great Lakes Water Authority released a statement saying “The cause of the disruption is being investigated. More information will be shared as it becomes available.”
