2026 Candidate Interview: Gary Murrell for State Representative District 51

Commerce Township, Highland Township, Milford Township, Springfield Township, and White Lake Township, MI – In the race for State Representative of the 51st District, there are two candidates running in the Democratic Primary on Aug 4. The candidates are Stacey McDuffie and Gary Murrell. The winner of the primary will go on to face Republican incumbent Matt Maddock on the Nov 3 ballot.

The position has a two-year term.

The 51^st District includes part of Commerce Township, Highland Township, Milford Township (including the Village), part of Springfield Township, and White Lake Township.
