2026 Candidate Interview: Christopher Gilmer-Hill for State Representative District 8

Detroit, Ferndale, and Pleasant Ridge, MI – In the race for State Representative of the 8th District there is competition in both the Democratic and Republican primaries on Aug. 4.
In the Democratic race candidates are Deanne Austin, Chris Gilmer-Hill, Fedor Kinaya, and Helena Scott.
In the Republican race the candidates are Bruce Langran and Tonay Renay Wells.
The winner of each primary will be on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The 8th District includes part of Detroit, plus the cities of Ferndale and Pleasant Ridge.
The position has a four-year term.
