Aug 4 Ballot: Wixom Library Millage Renewal
Wixom, MI – Voters in Wixom have a library millage on the Aug 4 ballot. Ballot language is as follows:
Shall the previously authorized increase in tax limitation on all taxable property in the City of Wixom, Oakland County, that expires in 2026 be renewed and the City be authorized to levy a millage annually an amount not to exceed 1.0645 mills ($1.0645 per each $1,000 of taxable value) against all taxable property in the City for a period of ten (10) years, 2027 through 2036, inclusive, to provide funds for operating, maintaining, and equipping the Wixom Public Library and for all other library purposes authorized by law? The estimate of the revenue the City will collect if the millage is approved and levied in the first year of levy (2027) is approximately $1,297,000. By law, a portion of the revenue from the millage may be subject to capture by the City of Wixom Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. The revenue from this millage levy will be disbursed to the Wixom Public Library.
