2026 Candidate Interview: Donni Steele for State Senate District 23

Addison Township, Almont Township, Atlas Township, Clarkston, Brandon Township, Dryden Township, Hadley Township, Highland Township, Independence Township, Metamora Township, Oakland Township, Orion Township, Oxford Township, Rose Township and Waterford Township.
In the race for State Senator for the 23rd District there is competition in both the Republican and Democratic Primary on Aug. 4. The Republican candidates are Daniel Lawless and Donni Steele. The Democratic candidates are Margarette Gupta and Greg Hill. The winner of each primary will face each other on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot.
State Senate District 23 includes part of Waterford Township, along with all of Addison Township, Almont Township, Atlas Township, Clarkston, Brandon Township, Dryden Township, Hadley Township, Highland Township, Independence Township, Metamora Township, Oakland Township, Orion Township, Oxford Township and Rose Township.
The position has a four-year term.
