Aug 4 Ballot: Huntington Woods Roads, Sewer, and Parks Bond
Huntington Woods, MI – Huntington Woods voters have a bond proposal on the Aug. 4, 2026 ballot. Here is the ballot language:
Huntington Woods Road and Sewer Rehabilitation and Park Improvements Bond Proposal
Shall the City of Huntington Woods, Michigan, borrow the principal sum of not to exceed Seventeen Million Dollars ($17,000,000), and issue its unlimited tax general obligation bonds, in one or more series, payable in not to exceed twenty (20) years from the date of issue, to pay the cost of acquiring and constructing road and sewer improvements, including storm and sanitary sewer rehabilitation and replacement of existing sewer lines, together with water main improvements and parks and recreation system equipment and improvements.
The estimated millage to be levied in 2027 is 1.98 mills ($1.98 per $1,000 of taxable value) and the estimated simple average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds is 1.91 mills ($1.91 per $1,000 of taxable value).

“Huntington Woods has historically maintained its roads, water mains, sewers, and parks through bond funding, and aging infrastructure requires timely investment. This bond millage allows the city to address the most critical needs without delay, protecting property values and quality of life for all residents,” the website states.
$13 million will go for roads, water main, and sewer improvements. $2 million will go for rear yard sewer lining and repair program. And $2 million will go to parks and recreation improvements.
There will be an Open House to answer questions on the August 2026 Proposed Bond Millage on Thursday, June 11th, from 5:00- 7:00 PM inside City Hall.
