Crash Sends Vehicle into Lobby of Genisys Credit Union in Royal Oak

Royal Oak, MI – A crash on Main Street in Royal Oak sent a vehicle through the front entrance of Genisys Credit Union on Monday.
According to Royal Oak Police, the crash occurred at 2:15pm on May 18 at the intersection of N. Main Street and Farnum Avenue when a driver ran a red light. The impact sent one of the vehicles into the building.
“Thankfully no significant injuries occurred,” said Lt. Rich Millard. No arrests were made.
Heather Pizzala, Vice President of Marketing for Genisys said “The Royal Oak branch is temporarily closed while our contractors are onsite securing the building and beginning necessary repairs. The 24-hour ATM at the location is also unavailable. We are working through the process of repairing the branch as quickly as possible and will keep our members updated on reopening plans.
“In the interim, we encourage our members to utilize our nearest branches, including Troy (1960 E. Big Beaver Road) and Sterling Heights (35790 Van Dyke Ave.), or to access their accounts through our online and mobile banking services”
Pizzala also said “We thank our team and local law enforcement for their quick response and appreciate the support of the community and our members.”
