Oakland County Restaurant Quest: Vive Restaurant in West Bloomfield

West Bloomfield, MI – Vive Restaurant in West Bloomfield is one of those special places that makes elegance feel accessible. There is a simple, clean and warm decor, with a menu that is indulgent at any price point one might spend. This makes Vive a great place for business or romance, or even a more upscale carryout.
I made two visits because there was so much on their menu I wanted to try.
The first visit started with Apple Bourbon Roasted Brussels Sprouts made with diced apples, crunchy walnuts, and a hint of bourbon glaze. This was an amazing combination of flavors, and a great way to get some veggies in. Many restaurants bury their sprouts in toppings and drown them in sauce, but Vive did a great job with bringing out the earthy flavors rather than just covering them up.
I got the Roast Beef Dip which has shaved beef, caramelized onions, and Guyere on a ciabatta roll with a side of Au Jus. For the side I selected the perfectly cooked, rich, and creamy risotto.
And for dessert I had the Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse Cake, which of course was delicious. And the chocolate with Vibe’s name on it gave it an even snazzier touch.
For the second order I had the Black and Bleu Steak Tips made with blackened prime beef, caramelized onions, and mushrooms with zip sauce served with sourdough points. Although this was just an appetizer, it was a filling amount of food. The meat was cooked perfectly and the fresh mushrooms and onions were an impressive touch that added texture and taste.
I also had the Lamb Meatballs, which was my favorite of all the dishes. These were made of ground lamb and beef with cilantro, white bean hummus, crispy chickpeas, and pomegranate glaze. So much care went into this dish that every single bite was savored.
I also had Sweet Potato Croquettes were flavorful bites of roasted sweet potato, panko, and charred jalapeno.
These well-crafted dishes are just the start of a menu that has such luxuries as Lobster Orzo, Chilean Sea Bass, Prime Lamb Chops, Spicy Vodka Chicken Parmesan, Truffle Norcini and much more.
