Oakland County, MI – Oakland County recently honored six incredible Oakland County women making a powerful impact in their communities as 2026 Women’s History Month Award recipients!

Canequia “CoCo” Moulder – Director of the
Pontiac Promise Zone, dedicated to expanding educational access and uplifting Pontiac families.

Dani Gillman – Board chair of
Gesher Human Services, disability advocate, and community leader committed to equity and intellectual freedom.

Mary Craite – Longtime
Waterford School District educator and union president advocating for more than 530 teachers and the value of public education.

Marisa Youngblood – Social worker, survivor, and founder of Life Changing Counseling Services, supporting cancer thrivers and mental health care for all.

Andrea Washington –
Hazel Park’s first Black woman and first person of color elected to City Council and a passionate champion for the importance of native plants and pollinators with
Bees In The D.

Ellen Hodorek – Former
Troy City Council member whose 12 years of service strengthened civic cohesion, mentorship, and community trust.
