Royal Oak Library Hosting AI Literacy Presentation March 9
Royal Oak, MI – AI is transforming how we work, learn, and make decisions—but most people use it without fully understanding how it works or where it can go wrong.
Join our one-hour AI literacy session for a clear, non-technical introduction to modern AI, including generative tools like large language models. You’ll learn what AI can (and can’t) do, why bias and “hallucinations” happen, and how to use AI responsibly and effectively.
Through practical examples and live demos, we’ll cover how to evaluate AI outputs, when to rely on human judgment, and the core principles of trustworthy AI—privacy, accountability, and human-in-the-loop decision-making.
Program Presenter: Professor Dongxiao Zhu, Founding Director, Wayne State University AI Research Initiative.
