Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: Lincoln Yard in Birmingham
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Jan. 9, 2025)
Birmingham, MI – For an off-the-beaten path dine-in or carryout experience, Lincoln Yard in Birmingham offers up a nice variety of whimsical lunch and dinner options.
For my visit I carried out an Al Pastor Sandwich with a side of sweet potato mash, as well as a shawarma pizza and an order of olive oil and orange cornbread.
The Al Pastor is made with Pulled pork, al pastor BBQ sauce, purple cabbage slaw, fried onions, and rotisserie pineapple on a brioche bun with a choice of sides. The sweet potato mash had some kind of kick to it that made it more bold than expected.
The sandwich was a delicious mix of flavors, but the Shawarma Pizza was a real star. Made with garlic cream sauce, rotisserie chicken, cheese blend, chopped pickles, tomato, and red onion on a za’atar spiced crust this was an amazing meal.
Other Lincoln Yard items include Ras El Hanout Smoked Chicken Wings that are hardwood smoked and served with harissa buffalo and charred scallion buttermilk. Other options include Roasted Carrots, Bowls with names like Skate Park, Zamboni and Crosscourt, as well as handhelds like the Company Chicken Sandwich and Grilled Cheese.
Lincoln Yard is part of the Union Joints family of restaurants so of course they have the company’s signature Mac and Cheese, with a few different options. There are also salads and more pizza choices.
Lincoln Yard is connected to Little Yard, which is a brunch spot that has pastries, breakfast burritos, frittata bites and a menu full of tasty beverages.
Lincoln Yard is located at 2159 E. Lincoln Street in Birmingham. Learn more at https://www.eatlincolnyard.com/
