Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: Little Ghost in Ferndale
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Jan. 4, 2026)
Ferndale, MI – Bringing a quick little taste of Grey Ghost restaurant in Detroit north to the suburbs, Four Man Ladder Hospitality opened their newest creation Little Ghost in Ferndale back in August. On busy days there is a line out the door of people hungry for the signature Ghost burgers, Nashville Chicken Sandwiches, and Beef Hot Dogs.
The adorably-sized building does have some inside seating, but mostly their gourmet fast food is designed for people on the go.
For my Restaurant Quest adventure, I got the Double Ghost Burger with Ghost Sauce, shredded lettuce, and American Cheese. I also got an order of Fries, which comes with “Fancy Sauce,” as well as an order of Donuts. The Donuts change seasonally, and since I went in the fall mine came with pumpkin-flavored dipping sauce, though at the time I’m writing this, it’s key lime custard and graham cracker flavored. To drink I had a Detroit classic, Faygo Rock n’ Rye.
The meal has everything that elevated fast food should – juicy meaty burgers (dubbed “hauntingly good” on their website), “fancy” sauce that is simultaneously sweet and tangy, classic fries, and one simple, yet ever-changing dessert.
Plus, it’s fun. The building is a lovely plum color and their packaging boasts bright pink and purple designs, along with a smiling-faced ghost for a mascot. The simple menu helps keep things moving quickly, and can inspire guests to venture south for the full Grey Ghost experience.
Little Ghost is located at 22305 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale. Learn more and order online at https://www.eatlittleghost.com
