Ferndale and Royal Oak Preschool and Early Learning Fair Jan 13
Royal Oak, MI – Parents to be and families with small children should mark their calendars for Tuesday, January 13, when the libraries of Ferndale and Royal Oak will partner to host the First Annual Preschool & Early Learning Fair, an informational expo happening at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market.
Youth Services Librarians from both Ferndale and Royal Oak have collaboratively arranged for over 25 representatives from local preschools and child care centers to set up, open-house-style, inside the Farmers Market on January 13, to provide resources, brochures, and simply answer any/all questions for curious caregivers with young children in their households, providing an all-encompassing view of the various opportunities, services and activities available for new parents in the area. No registration is required.
Attendees of the Preschool & Early Learning Fair will also see the debut of, and be able to interact with, a new electronic directory of preschools and child care providers in the area. Along with that, Emily Crosby, a youth librarian at Royal Oak, and Everett Pine, Ferndale’s Head of Youth Services, will also be on-hand at the event to answer questions and provide further information on each of their libraries’ ongoing and recurring programs to support early literacy for young children.
Each organization setting up at the library for the fair will have activities for families where they can learn about preschool curriculum, fostering development and structure, the importance of playtime, literacy, and so much more! And while this event will have lots of information for parents and caregivers, it’s also open to anyone else in the community who works with children under the age of five, including preschool educators, who may want to meet and network.
ROPL and FADL’s collaborative Preschool and Early Learning Fair will be held from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm on Tues., January 13, at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market!
