Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: MiYork East Coast Kitchen in Commerce Township
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Dec. 19, 2025)
Commerce Township, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County took us recently to Commerce Township, right on the Walled Lake border, to a place that brings New York flair to the hungry locals of eastern Oakland County – MiYork East Coast Kitchen.
This souped up pizza joint has traditional pies, plus salads, pasta, chicken, subs and more.
For my visit the star was the Veggie Pizza, topped with a slightly tangy tomato sauce, fresh spinach, mozzarella and feta, zucchini, mushrooms, basil pesto, kalamata olives, marinated peppers, red onion, olive oil, and oregano. This celebration of nature made for a beautiful and delicious meal.
I also loved the spinach and cheese stromboli, with thick soft dough and bites of spinach and mozzarella all rolled into a convenient meal that is sprinkled with parmesan, a stromboli is perfect for someone on the go, and easy to reheat if leftovers are desired.
The MiYorker salad also exemplified freshness. It was packed with mixed greens, arugula, cucumbers, pickled red onions, blue cheese, avocado, and balsamic vinaigrette.

For dessert I ordered cannoli. This Italian classic features house made ricotta cream and Valrhona chocolate, hand-filled into cannoli shells.
MiYork has a number of pizza choices including the meatball pizza, mushroom pizza, carne pizza, and the elote pizza topped with ricotta, house cheese blend, corn, cotija cheese, pickled red onions, cilantro, and tajin.
Appetizers include fried zucchini, fried squash blossoms, cheese arancini, and french fries. For pasta one might want to try the palomino rigatoni, fettuccine alfredo, pesto gemelli and more.
MiYork is located at 46670 W Pontiac Trail in Commerce Township. Dine in, or order online at https://www.miyorkeastcoastkitchenmenu.com/.
