Ferndale Community Foundation and Ferndale Pride Announce Over $31,000 in Grants

Ferndale, MI – The Ferndale Community Foundation and Ferndale Pride distributed $31,186.32 in grants to 15 community organizations as part of its annual distribution.
Ferndale Pride made its return to 9 Mile for the 15th year. Under the leadership of Julia Music, the Executive Director of Ferndale Pride, the event remained free to the public and was able to give back to local charities. Proceeds from Pride were granted to the following organizations:
1. Affirmations
2. ACCESS
3. Gender Identity Network
4. Matrix Human Services
5. TGDetroit
6. Transgender Michigan
In addition, The Ferndale Community Foundation provided an additional twelve grants through its annual giving. The Community Foundation receives funding from proceeds from Ferndale Pride and private donations. The organizations which were awarded grants through the Community Foundation were:
1. Detroit Hives
2. FernCare Free Clinic
3. Ferndale Community Concert Band
4. Ferndale Robotics Boosters
5. Friends of the Ferndale Library
6. Michigan Stage/Playlabs
7. Motor City Possum Rescue
8. Renaissance Vineyard Food Pantry
9. Sing Out Detroit (SOD)

Community Foundation Chair Anatoly Askanzi said, “We’re proud to continue giving back to our community. By funding nine outstanding projects, we’re supporting work that is already making a tangible impact in people’s lives. These funds will go a long way in Ferndale—strengthening programs, expanding access to services, and improving quality of life for a wide range of individuals and families across our city.”
The Ferndale Community Foundation is a 501c3 private foundation that supports projects and organizations benefiting residents of Ferndale in the areas of art, health care, culture, and education. Ferndale Pride operates under the umbrella of Ferndale Community Foundation.
