Lakes Area Chamber Accepting Nominations for Annual Awards
(LACC, Dec. 5, 2025)
The Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Black and White Awards Ball on Jan 23, 2026 from 6 to 11pm at Edgewood County Club.
Nominations are open until 12/12/25 for the following Award Categories:
Business of the Year Award
Honors an outstanding business that has shown longstanding commitment to the community and their employees and shows exceptional professionalism, integrity and customer service. Business must be a member of the LACC to be considered for this award.
Community Hero Award
Honors an individual who has shown longstanding commitment to the community through volunteer efforts, selfless actions and has a history of service to the betterment of the Lakes Area. Nominee must be a resident, or work within the Lakes Area communities to be considered.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Awarded to an individual whose exceptional lifetime contribution to community leadership and philanthropic endeavors improve the quality of life and leave an indelible footprint of a civic legacy. Nominee must be a resident, or work within the Lakes Area communities to be considered.
First Responder of the Year Award
Presented to an outstanding community first responder who has shown professionalism and extraordinary measures in the line of duty. Nominee must serve the residents of the Lakes Area to be considered.
Genysis Credit Union Entrepreneur of the Year Award
This award honors significant growth and long-term potential. The entrepreneur should note contributions to the community through charitable or leadership roles. The company should demonstrate innovative employee programs and corporate culture. Nominee must be a member of a LACC business to be considered.
DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital
Excellence in Healthcare
This award honors an individual who demonstrates leadership, innovation and excellence in the healthcare field. Nominee must serve the residents of the Lakes Area to be considered.
Lewbowski Law Firm Outstanding Community Organization Award
Presented to an organization that demonstrates exceptional commitment to the community through direct involvement, financial support and leadership. The group should have official status as a nonprofit organization. Organization must be a member of the LACC to be considered.
Student of the Year Award
Recognizes a high school senior residing in the Lakes Area that has demonstrated excellence in leadership, citizenship and academic and/or career and technical achievement. Student will receive a scholarship.
Diversity Pacesetter Award
This award is presented to a company that promotes and facilitates a culture of diversity and inclusion in the areas of work environment, career development, training, networking and mentoring. Business must be a member of the LACC to be considered.
Young Professional of the Year Award
Honors a dynamic leader between the ages of 21 and 40 who represents a Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce member business and has made a meaningful impact in the community and workplace. Nominees may be put forward by an employer, colleague, mentor, or peer and must demonstrate one or more of the following: influence in the community through volunteer or non-profit work, excellence in business through leadership, or forward-thinking innovation in their field.
