Anthony Louis Ward Charged with Second Degree Murder in Pontiac Shooting
(OCSO, Nov. 21, 2025)
Pontiac, MI – A 41-year-old Waterford Township man was arraigned on multiple felony charges including second-degree murder in Saturday’s shooting death of a Pontiac man.
Anthony Louis Ward was ordered held without bond in the Oakland County Jail by 50th District Court Magistrate Angelina Thomas-Scruggs. He is also charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of using a firearm while in the commission of a felony. A conviction on the murder charge carries up to life in prison.
Ward is charged in the death of 36-year-old Deevon Cornea Brown. The shooting happened Saturday shortly after 6 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to the 80 block of Wall Street on a report of shots fired.
The caller reported discovering a bullet hole through the back door of a residence but there were no injuries. While deputies were responding to the Wall Street shooting, additional 911 calls reported similar incidents, including one in which a male – later determined to be Brown – had been shot in the 200 block of Osmun St. Brown was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Ward on Saturday in Farmington Hills. A probable cause conference is set for Dec. 2 before 50th District Court Judge Ronda Gross in Pontiac.
