Pontiac Man Fatally Shot, Suspect in Custody

Pontiac, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 41-year-old Waterford Township man in the early morning shooting death today of a Pontiac man. The Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested the suspect this afternoon in Farmington Hills.
The case is expected to be turned over to prosecutors for review on Monday.
The shooting happened today shortly after 6 a.m.
Deputies were dispatched to the 80 block of Wall Street on a report of shots fired. The caller reported discovering a bullet hole through the back door of a residence but there were no injuries. While deputies were responding to the Wall Street shooting, additional 911 calls reported similar incidents, including one in which a male had been shot in the 200 block of Osmun St.
Deputies located the 36-year-old Pontiac man and began life-saving measures. The man was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Deputies are in the process of notifying the victim’s next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation.
