Waterford Schools Launching Strategic Planning Process, Community Meetings Dec 2 and Jan 6

The Waterford School District Board of Education and administration will soon begin creating the district’s next five-year strategic plan and are seeking community input during the process. Through the strategic planning process, school leaders will update the district’s mission, vision and goals for the future. Waterford School District’s current strategic plan expires at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
An important part of the strategic plan process is to garner feedback from all district stakeholders including administrators, students, parents and the community. Led by Michigan Association of School Boards Consultant Greg Janicki, there will be opportunities for each of these groups to engage with the strategic planning process. The public is invited to participate through two different avenues.
The first is through a community survey. The 10-minute survey can be done anytime from today through Jan. 9, 2026.

Second, there will be a community forum held:
1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025
6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026
Both will take place in Room 103 at the Crary Administration Building, 501 N. Cass Lake Road, Waterford.
District administrators will meet in February to review stakeholder feedback before presenting a final strategic plan for approval in March 2026 to the Waterford School District Board of Education.
“Data and stakeholder feedback will guide us through this important and necessary process,” said WSD Superintendent Adam Martin. “Our leadership team is eager to begin strategically planning to ensure a bright future for our students and staff.”
