Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: Indian Heaven in Lake Orion
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Nov. 8, 2025)
Lake Orion, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Indian Heaven in Orion Township.
I started with the Chicken Pakora, which was three bite-sized pieces of chicken coated in chickpea flour batter and deep-fried, served with rice.
I also got the Chicken Rogan Josh which had a more generous portion of chicken and vegetables in a rich red curry. Of all the dishes, this was my favorite. The chicken pulled easily apart and the sauce had a comforting level of heat to it.
I also had the soft warm goodness of cheese naan, and an order of Saag Paneer, with a thin spinach sauce and cubes of Indian cheese.
To top it all off I had the Bulab Jumum with Ice Cream. This dainty dessert has two dough balls soaked in a sweet syrup topped with a bite of vanilla ice cream.
Other menu options include Butter Chicken, Samosa, Mango Chicken Curry, Roasted Papadum, Onion Bhaji, Goat Vindaloo, Tikka Masala and more.
Indian Heaven is located at 1184 S. Lapeer Road in Orion Township in the Orion Market Place plaza. Learn more and order online at https://indian-heaven.square.site/
