Pontiac Couple Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Pontiac, MI – Oakland County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Pontiac woman and apparent suicide of her long-time live-in boyfriend.
Latrece Shanna Harper, 33, was found dead about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in her Pontiac home in the 300 block of S. Marshall St.
She was discovered sitting on a couch by her stepdaughter, who had gone to check on her. Harper had a single gunshot wound to her head.
About 15 minutes later, Bloomfield Township police were called to Square Lake Road near Telegraph where Harper’s boyfriend, Clifford Torrell Noel Jr., 41, was found slumped over behind the wheel of a car from a self-inflicted shot from an AR-15 style rifle. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Harper and Noel had been together for about 10 years. Detectives believe the homicide was the result of an argument between the two.
“It breaks my heart when relationships turn violent,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “If you’re in an abusive one, get help. There are people and groups ready to guide you to safety.”
Five children, who ranged from 4-15, lived with the couple.
They were not home at the time of the shooting and were found unharmed in a Rochester Hills motel. Child Protective Services arranged for placement of the children.
