Nov 15 – Troy Library Hosting Local Author Fair

Troy, MI – For a third year, Troy Public Library (TPL) is welcoming back local authors to share their craft with the community at the 2025 Local Author Fair on Nov. 15 from 10am-1pm at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois Rd.
Readers of all ages will find something of interest at this event, which celebrates the creativity and dedication of authors local to Troy and neighboring communities.
“We’ve had great feedback from members of the community discovering new books and getting inspired to work on their own writing. We’ve even had teachers send students to the Local Author Fair to ask questions as an assignment,” said Keegan Sulecki, Head of TPL Youth Services.
There were over 50 authors at the 2024 event, offering fiction, non-fiction, and poetry with intended audiences ranging from adults, to teens, to children. Such offerings will be available at the 2025 Local Author Fair too, along with the opportunity for attendees to win prizes.
“Each year we hand out a passport that attendees can get stamped when they visit an author table. Those who visit 10 authors can turn in their passport for a chance to win one of five $20 gift cards to Barnes & Noble,” said Sulecki.
The Local Author Fair was started in 2023 by Sulecki and Head of TPL Community Engagement Olivia Olson, and is becoming a well-loved event in the community. “We were hearing from a lot of local authors looking for ways to connect more with the community,” said Olson. “This seemed like the perfect way to support writers and help build connections.”
Authors interested in participating in the 2026 event can look for the application in August by visiting troypl.org, checking the quarterly program guide, or calling TPL at 248.524.3538.
Authors who are Troy residents or have a Troy connection are given priority, but authors from neighboring communities are awarded remaining spaces.
