Ferndale Public Schools Launches Strategic Plan to REACH for Future
(Camille Hibbler, Ferndale Schools Superintendent, Sept. 22, 2025)
Ferndale, MI – With the excitement of a new school year underway, Ferndale Public Schools is proud to introduce a new five-year strategic plan– a bold, focused roadmap built to ensure every student is prepared for college, careers and success in our diverse and ever-changing world.
This plan is more than just a document. It is a living promise to students, families and the community to responsibly invest in the lasting success of Ferndale Public Schools. It represents months of listening and learning, relying on input from students, parents, educators and stakeholders from across the district. Together, we tackled a critical question: How will we create meaningful, lasting change for our students?
Through seven phases of development, we built a plan that is rooted in equity, excellence and collective pride. At its core is a belief in the potential of every learner. We know students thrive when they’re challenged with high expectations and supported in meaningful ways. That’s why we’re committed to providing all students with equitable access and opportunities to fully participate, grow and succeed in school, regardless of their race, ability, income or neighborhood.
We’ve captured the essence of our strategic plan in one powerful acronym: REACH. Each letter represents a core priority that will drive our work over the next five years.
- Relevant & Responsive Staff Development – professional learning that supports growth.
- Engaged & Empowered Students – ensuring every child feels connected.
- Accelerate Academic Excellence – raising achievement and closing gaps.
- Cultivating Collective Pride – strengthening partnerships and celebrating community.
- Harnessing Data to Drive Improvement – using evidence to guide every decision.
Throughout the year, we’ll continue to share more about the plan’s core priorities and what they mean for our students, staff and schools. Purposeful change doesn’t happen in isolation. It takes all of us– families, educators, community partners and students– working together. We invite you to join us as we Reach Higher together for the future of our schools and community. The future is Ferndale!
