Explore: Woodland Hills Park in Farmington Hills
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug. 15, 2025)
Farmington Hills, MI – Woodland Hills Nature Park is a beautiful place to enjoy birds, deer, and other wildlife and to get some steps in on the rustic trails through 74 acres. There are a variety of settings, from flower-dotted meadows, to a towering forest, and a thriving wetland area fed by the Rouge River. You can even get good views of the freeway if you go back far enough.
I’ve also dug into the archives for this video from 2020 of a hawk hunting in Woodland Hills.
The trails have moderate difficulty and the paths are easy to follow as people get out to explore nature. The park does not allow dogs or bicycles so it can be a nice escape from some of the busier community parks.
Woodland Hills is located at 26655 Farmington Road in Farmington Hills. Learn more at https://www.fhgov.com/facilities/woodland-hills/
