Teen Shot in Wrist at Party in Oxford Township, 16 Year Old Arrested

Oxford, MI – A 16-year-old Clarkston male is expected to appear today in Oakland County Children’s Village to face charges after his arrest for shooting another teen during a party in Oxford Township.
The suspect is accused of shooting a 17-year-old Oxford Township male in the wrist during a party about 11:30 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Lake Township Park in Oxford Township.
“This is unacceptable on so many levels,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “Our detectives will continue their hard work to determine how and where he illegally obtained this firearm and we will seek to hold him accountable.”
The suspect was arrested Saturday at about noon in a Springfield Township mobile home park by members of the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team.
Deputies were dispatched to the park about 11:30 p.m. Friday for a male who had been shot. The victim told deputies he got into an argument with the suspect who had repeatedly pointed a laser at his eyes. The suspect reportedly shot him and then fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated for his wound and released.
