Pontiac, MI – In the race for Mayor of Pontiac there are multiple candidates running in the Aug. 5, 2025 primary. The candidates are Gill Garrett, Mark Holland, Mike McGuinness, Alexandria Riley, Deirdre Waterman, Kermit Williams, and Wendell Woods. Also Sabrina LaKaye Jernagin is running as a write-in

The top two vote-getters will move on to the Nov. 4, 2025 ballot.

The position has a four-year term.

There is also a primary in the race for council member at large. Candidates are Adrian Austin, Marcus Bowman, William Parker, and Sennel Trelkeld.

For Library Board voters can pick up to six candidates out of: Angela Allen, Tori Blander-Harris, Yvette Brinker Marion, Dorian Jay-Simone Burkett, Ashelin Currie, Carlton Jones, Taneity Keels, LaDonna Kormegay-Bey, Rosie Lance-Richardson, Ravon Love, Holbert Maxey, Russ Russell, Caroll Yvonne Turpin, DeSiree White, and Ross Howard (write-in).
