Aug 21 – Royal Oak Civic Foundation’s Arts, Beats, & Eats Charity Preview Fundraiser
Royal Oak, MI – The Royal Oak Civic Foundation is proud to announce the return of Arts, Beats & Eats on 5th Charity Preview, taking place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Fifth Avenue restaurant in Royal Oak.
Following the last two years of successful events, which brought together 300 civic and business leaders, this year’s charity preview promises another evening of exceptional food, custom cocktails, and live music, raising money in support of community programs and local charities.
To make an even bigger impact at a grassroots level, the foundation has invited six local nonprofits to sell tickets to the event, with each organization receiving 75 percent of ticket proceeds. Nonprofit partners for this year’s event are the Metro Detroit Youth Club, Outreach on 7th , Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, Royal Oak Football Club, Royal Oak Sandlot League, and Stagecrafters in addition to the foundation.
This collaboration seeks to broaden community impact across multiple worthy causes throughout the area.
“We’re excited to continue the momentum from our successful events over the past two years,” said Foundation Chair Tom McGannon. “This preview serves as a powerful networking opportunity for civic leaders from the city, the region and area businesses. Event attendees enjoy a taste of what’s to come at Arts, Beats, & Eats and directly support programs that make a real difference in our community.”

VIP reception tickets are $100 and allow early entry from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., to mingle with elected officials and Royal Oak’s senior city staff. General admission tickets are $50 with entry at 6:30 p.m. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available online.
All proceeds benefit programs supporting the city of Royal Oak, Michigan.
Since its creation, the Royal Oak Civic Foundation has directed more than half a million dollars to fund vital community programs and initiatives including transportation services and lawn care for seniors, food insecurity relief during the pandemic, supplying new books to the Royal Oak Public Library and book vending machine at Woodward Corner Market, and replacing the piano at the senior center.
The foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, supports civic entities that receive little or no tax-based funding and groundbreaking community projects that improve quality of life in the city. Recent foundation initiatives include the annual “Shop with a Hero” event, which provided 120 students with $100 gift cards and paired them with local police officer and firefighters for holiday shopping. The foundation also partners with the Royal Oak Police Department to provide gift cards to community members facing financial hardships.
