Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: Crazy Gator Pizza in Highland Township

Highland Township, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County took me recently to the rural community of Highland and a small town pizza joint called Crazy Gator Pizza. There is no website. No online ordering. And even finding a menu online is a mystery I never solved. However, their Facebook Page has some photos of a flier that gives an idea of the options.
For my visit I picked the BLT Pizza, topped with mayo, crispy bacon pieces, tomato and lettuce. The pizza came perfectly cooked, with fresh wedges of tomatoes and crisp lettuce on top of traditional pizza dough that is flavorful and soft without being too greasy.
Those who want to create their own Crazy Gator Pizza can chose from a variety of toppings (like ham, pepperoni, Italian Sausage, jalapenos, anchovies, green olives, black olives and more), and a selection of seasoned crusts (like butter, garlic, poppy seed etc).
They also have BBQ chicken, chicken bacon ranch, and Hawaiian specialty pizzas.
Crazy Gator also serves up hot wings, cheese bread, and cinnamon bread with frosting.
Plus, when you go to pick up your meal you can check out the life-size replicas of famous characters. On one side, The Simpsons family is nestled on their famous couch. And on the other side is an interesting mix that includes Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, and other friends.
Crazy Gator is located at 1840 N. Milford Road in Highland Township, within driving distance of Milford, White Lake, Springfield Township, and even Holly if you’re hungry for it.
